Mana Wahine

How sad to see the national meeting of the Kahui Wahine take place here in Christchurch this weekend. Kahui Wahine are the whaeas of the church. Or should I say all the old ladies of the church who save up to go on trips and stay at flash hotels and gossip for two days. That's right Kahui Wahine, I'm talking about you!

I wonder if your host brought his wife or his defacto partner with him to the meeting. Which was it ladies? You who represent all the old wahine of the church. Don't you mind having a leader who is unfaithful to his wife? Him who had a baby with a youth group leader and kept it all hush hush and pretended like it never happened. And him who you all keep up the front. Do you support this Kahui Wahine? Are you saying that it's alright for a husband to cheat and lie, and pretend like he's living with you. Everytime he gets in trouble he pays people to go away.

And please please don't tell me to forgive and forget like God and Jesus. Jesus said repent, and I don't see him or you or any of your leaders repenting. You all look away and shut your mouths because your too scared to lose your trips and flash hotels.

I got mistreated by your leader, and I stood up for myself and now I have my dignity. What do you have you silly old ladies? You have no mana and I turn my back on you and what you do, and who you support. You are all hypocrites.

It makes me just so sick

I hate how this keeps annoying me. I think of this beautiful church with its beautiful history. And instead I am annoyed by the news that the Bishop of the South is still living with his mistress, while pretending to be an honest leader everywhere else that he goes to. I hear now that he is trying to fix our Maori schools! Trying to fix himself some more mana munching I bet.

Even more shocking is the fact that I have learned that the other Bishops no all about him! They know he doesn't live with his wife anymore and they know all about the baby he had with his mistress all those years ago. How can this be! These Bishops are liars and hypocrites.

Way Down South

Imagine a Church that had a Bishop. A smiling Bishop who promised you the world. His promises would make you feel warm and fuzzy. You would believe that you were in the right place.

Imagine that you saw the best of this Bishop. He cooked, cleaned, and washed his people's feet. He was so beautiful.

Now imagine that you found out more about him. That he wasn't so beautiful. That he lied, and didn't keep his promises. That would hurt.

Imagine if it got worse. Imagine if this Bishop had skeletons in his closet. And what could be the worst I could imagine? How about this, he was unfaithful to his wife. With a babysitter. A teenager from the Church youth group. She got pregnant. Had the child. And it was all hushed up. Imagine if the Church leaders knew, but said nothing. Ever.

And imagine if now, years later, the Bishop moved in with this girl and their child. Imagine if he had done that, and his wife was too scared to go public. Instead she stayed at their family home, demanded that her bills continued to be paid. And the Bishop agreed, and used Church money to do it.

And all the other Bishops knew. And they said nothing. And all the leaders said nothing.

But its real. I know that its real. All you have to do it follow him home, and see who he goes home to. Not his wife. Not his older children. No. He lives a lie and he gets away with it.

This Bishop of the South should be a Bishop no more.

Imagine if someone finally told on him. Told the media. Uncovered all his nasty extortions and bullying. I could imagine that.

What about you? Could you imagine that?
